With the meeting of the representatives of TI-Macedonia and TI-Serbia held in Belgrade on 11 and 12 June 2025 was marked the beginning of the Peer Exchange Program supported with Transparency International Movement Grant Mechanism financed by the European Union.
Transparency Serbia will share its knowledge and experience with TI Macedonia in conducting research, evaluation and ranking of municipalities according to transparency, using LTI methodology (Local Transparency Index) developed and implemented eight times since 2015 by TI Serbia. Both chapters will undertake collaborative LTI research (on a sample of municipalities).
The first meeting was used for presentation of how data is collected and analyzed, on a part of the sample of local self-governances, chosen by Transparency Serbia for the research. TI –Macedonia will use this experience in order to conduct research and collect data.
On the meeting there was fruitful discussion on which were shared practical experiences, the differences within the laws were analyzed and the indicators that will be used for the conduct of the research.
With this type of grants the cooperation between TI chapters will be strengthened and the practical experiences will be shared among them for building of in-house capacities and extending their scope of work.
