Presentation of Local Transparency Index - LTI 2019

On September 6, 2019, the United States Agency for International Development and Transparency Serbia (TS)will present the 2019 Local Transparency Index. TS used 95 indicators to evaluate and rank the transparency of all municipalities and cities in Serbia. We invite the media to a press conference on September 6, 2019 at 11am at the Media Center, where TS will present research results, conclusions on state of transparency, good and bad practices, and recommendations for improving transparency.

TS will also compare LTI rankings from previous years. Having regular measurements of local self-governments (LSG) allows TS and local governments to identify “weak spots of transparency”. Continuous monitoring encourages competition among LSGs. LTI will be conducted for the next three years with support from USAID, which gives citizens greater access to information on local government operations.
